My Personal Philosophy
My work is guided by a strong connection to spirit, an analysis and awareness of mental attitudes, a growing emotional intelligence, a passion for human rights, and commitment to healing body as the vehicle for manifestation. As a birth worker, I am holding the space for a woman to do the work necessary to birth her child. I view birth as a natural part of life. I trust the wisdom of women’s bodies and understand the transformative nature of taking this journey. READ MORE
1. Well Women Advising
My services consist of a monthly meet up to check in about where you are in transforming your body, mind and soul, nutritional advice, resources and any other advising in terms of reproductive health. I help develop a self-care plan with you, setting goals in one or more areas of your life, and helping you personalize your health-enhancing routine. I am also available for questions about how to treat common women’s health issues, such as menstrual cramps and such. I give recommendations, meaning you take them at your own discretion with the fact that I am not your healthcare provider, cannot diagnose you and am offering my knowledge to help you make better and more informed choices.
2. Preconception Advising
These services are similar in approach to the Well-Women Advising but are more focused on tips and recommendations for a woman to prepare for becoming pregnant.
3. Prenatal Doula
As a prenatal doula, I am able to provide a more extensive explanation of the pregnancy, stage by stage. I can recommend questions to ask healthcare providers, books, videos, and other resources to help enhance and support your pregnancy in a holistic way. I am also available for emotional support during our meet-ups. I give recommendations, meaning you take them at your own discretion with the fact that I am not your healthcare provider, cannot diagnose you and am offering my knowledge to help you make better and more informed choices.
4. Birth Doula Support
My role as a birth doula is also known as a birth companion and post-birth supporter. I am a nonmedical person who assists a woman before, during, and/or after childbirth, as well as her spouse and/or family, by providing physical assistance and emotional support. Additionally, the Healthy Women Healthy Families initiative is aiming to help as many women in NYC as possible by providing doulas for women who need it. I am part of this effort helping out in the Bronx specifically and also am interested in helping Spanish-speaking women who need support from a bilingual birthworker. Refer women to me and I can help them find a doula!
